Dr. Anthony Metumaraibe Nwohiri

Dr. Anthony Metumaraibe Nwohiri is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and currently serves as the Deputy Director of the university’s Centre for Information Technology and Systems (CITS). A Spring 2024 MIT-ETT Fellow, he is a specialist in Webometrics and Information Retrieval. His research focuses on the dynamics of web graphs, analyzing the structure and connectivity of academic websites in Africa to improve their visibility and impact. He also works on Task Scheduling for parallel distributed crawlers and the analysis of thematic co-authorship networks. Dr. Nwohiri holds his Ph.D., M.Sc., and B.Sc. in Computer Science/Information Technology from St. Petersburg State University, Russia, having studied under the Bilateral Education Agreement between Nigeria and Russia. He is an elected member of the UNILAG Senate and is actively involved in digital infrastructure policy at the university.
