Dr. Nkemakolam Chinedu Izuwa

Dr. Nkemakolam Chinedu Izuwa is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), where he has taught since 2002. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, a Master’s degree in Natural Gas Engineering, and a Doctoral degree in Petroleum Engineering (reservoir engineering option). He also holds a certificate in Advanced Studies in Academic Practice from Newcastle University, UK. He was a Fellow of the MIT Empowering the Teachers (ETT) program, where he trained in curriculum development and effective teaching methodology. His research interests include reservoir characterization, enhanced oil and gas production, and optimizing drilling efficiency using local viscosifiers. He has authored 26 scientific papers and supervised numerous graduate and undergraduate projects. He is a registered engineer with COREN, a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
