Dr. Obioma U. Uche
Rochester Institute of Technology
Spring 2018
Dr. Obioma Uche is an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Kate Gleason College of Engineering, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), New York. A Spring 2018 MIT-ETT Fellow (originally from the American University of Nigeria), she is a distinguished researcher in the field of computational materials science. Her research utilizes advanced theoretical calculations and molecular simulations to solve energy and environmental challenges. She recently received a prestigious NSF Early Career Award to investigate transition metal sulfide catalysts for converting methane into ethylene, a process designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance sustainable chemical production. Dr. Uche holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University and a B.S. from the University of California, Berkeley. She continues to advocate for the application of computational tools in solving local and global engineering problems.
