Dr. Yusuf Sha’aban

Dr. Yusuf A. Sha’aban is an Associate Professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He was previously a Senior Lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He was a Teaching/Research Fellow at MIT in 2017. He received his Ph.D. in Control Engineering from the University of Manchester and his M.Sc. in Control Systems from Imperial College, London. His research focuses on optimization and optimal control schemes like Model Predictive Control (MPC) and intelligent algorithms. He has applied these techniques to diverse applications, including process and power systems, smart grids, renewable energy, and the use of UAVs for precision agriculture. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a registered COREN engineer.
