Prof. Ibrahim Adepoju Adeyanju is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Backbone Limited, the agency responsible for the Federal Government of Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and shared services. A Fall 2014 MIT-ETT Fellow, he is a Professor of Computer Engineering at Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), where he previously served as the Director of Quality Assurance. As an academic, his research focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Intelligent Systems, with applications in automated grading and local language processing. In his current national role, he is spearheading the expansion of Nigeria’s fiber optic network and the “1-Government Cloud” initiative to digitize public sector operations. Prof. Adeyanju holds a Ph.D. in Computing from Robert Gordon University, UK. He is a registered engineer (COREN) and a key policymaker driving the adoption of cloud computing and data sovereignty in Nigeria.
