University of Namibia
Fall 2014
Prof. Idehai Olayemi Ohijeagbon is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Namibia (UNAM). A Fall 2014 MIT-ETT Fellow (originally from the University of Ilorin), he is a distinguished expert in Energy Systems and Exergy Analysis. His research focuses on the thermodynamic optimization of industrial systems, specifically steam boilers and power generation plants. He specializes in Exergo-economics, a field that combines thermodynamic efficiency with cost analysis to improve the sustainability of manufacturing processes. Prof. Ohijeagbon also leads significant research into Waste-to-Energy technologies and renewable energy integration in Africa, including wind energy assessment and the development of composite materials from local agricultural waste. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and has served as an expatriate lecturer in Ethiopia and Namibia, strengthening engineering education across the continent.
