Prof. Surajudeen Olanrewaju Obayopo is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He was an MIT-ETT Fellow in the Spring 2015 cohort. His research is dedicated to enhancing food security and sustainable development in Nigeria through the design and development of innovative agricultural machinery for planting, harvesting, and post-harvest processing. He also works extensively on renewable energy technologies, specifically biomass conversion and the development of sustainable energy systems tailored for rural agricultural communities. He has served as Head of Department and is a registered engineer with COREN, actively mentoring students in practical, problem-solving engineering.
